Your safety is at the core of everything we do. Our fleet of fat-tire e-bikes is specifically chosen for Acadia’s carriage roads, offering wide, low-pressure tires that provide exceptional traction and stability on gravel, packed dirt, and variable conditions. Every guest completes a brief safety orientation and video before riding, and all riders are fitted with helmets. Each bike is equipped with a first-aid kit, and our team conducts daily mechanical checks to ensure every ride meets our highest standards. On peak days, our on-trail “Road Runners” are stationed throughout the carriage road system to provide assistance, answer questions, and respond quickly if help is needed. From thoughtful equipment choices to proactive support in the field, we’re committed to delivering an experience that’s not only unforgettable—but responsibly and professionally run.

We’re proud to offer the only on-trail Road Runner support program of its kind in the Acadia area. During peak riding hours, our uniformed Road Runners are stationed directly on the carriage roads to provide real-time assistance to our guests. Whether it’s answering route questions, helping with a minor mechanical issue, offering safety guidance, or simply checking in, our Road Runners add an extra layer of support you won’t find elsewhere. This proactive presence allows us to respond quickly when help is needed and ensures our riders feel confident and cared for throughout their experience—because once you leave the shop, you shouldn’t feel like you’re on your own.

 Acadia Fat Tire E-Bike is proudly locally owned and operated by Brad Jordan, a year-round Bar Harbor resident and Master Maine Guide. Unlike seasonal or out-of-state operators, Brad lives, rides, and recreates on Mount Desert Island in all four seasons. That local, year-round perspective brings a deeper understanding of Acadia’s carriage roads, weather patterns, trail conditions, wildlife considerations, and safety best practices. As a Master Maine Guide, Brad’s training and experience directly shape how the business operates—from route recommendations and rider education to fleet setup, safety protocols, and on-trail support. When you ride with us, you’re not just renting a bike—you’re supporting a local business built on professional guiding standards, stewardship of the park, and genuine knowledge of the place you’re exploring. 

We offer both half-day and full-day rentals to meet guests where they are—whether you’re looking for a relaxed ride between other plans or a full day of exploration on Acadia’s carriage roads.
